  • Delightful and Scary fun

You can tell that there is love for haunting and Halloween in every nook and cranny of this haunt. I brought my 11 year old daughter and she had a blast screaming at the excellent scares. The actors did a fantastic job, the sets where amazing, but make sure you wear boots as you travel inside and out of many different buildings through the woods. Many different settings end up hitting nearly everything you could want out of a haunt. And the zombie paintball was a blast. Easily 15 zombies were running around the outdoor sets. All in all, a fantastic evening out, and definitely a favorite haunt in the RTP area.

  • Yes and no.

My girlfriend and I visited Darkside Haunted Estates last night. I had a great time with her screaming in my ear and squeezing the blood out of my arm the whole time through the walk. They have a good cast of zombies, monsters, etc. Lots of surprising scares. That being said, I would not recommend the Paintball portion unless you just have money to waste. You just sit on a hay ride and shoot weak paintballs mostly at props but there were about 5 'zombies' lurking out that you can shoot- not worth the money. I really wish that I could rate the two attractions separately. I would give the walk at least a 4 and the paintball would get a 1. All together it cost me $65 ($30 combo +$2.50 processing fee * 2 = $65) to bring my girlfriend here and I was ultimately disappointed in the value. You're much better off to just pay the student price of $13/person and skip the hayride.
